What is a trauma?
Most young people feel invincible – they can’t imagine being seriously injured or killed. They don’t value ‘staying safe’ and they’re not interested in hearing lectures. Yet, they are the group most at risk of suffering from a potentially life-threatening physical injury following a car crash, a bike collision, a fall or in other words – a trauma.
Most traumas are not a matter of bad luck.
Risky behaviour and negligence are a direct cause of trauma. Through various prevention programs, CODE TRAUMA’s mission is to raise awareness about dangerous, risky or negligent behaviours that lead to trauma cases, and ultimately to reduce the number of injuries among youth.

“When you’re young, you take being healthy for granted. You don’t realize what it’s like to fight every day just to keep your body in shape. This was my reality. While all my friends were attending university, getting married and having children, my life was on pause : I was struggling just to get better. I don’t wish this upon anyone!”
Frédéric
“I was riding my bike, the usual. Except that the car in front of me suddenly decided to turn left. I slammed the brakes but it was too late. I got hit. I broke my jaw and 12 teeth. My stay at the hospital really made me realize just how fragile life is.”
